Editorial Policy
gheeisgood.com earns reader trust through independence. This policy explains how we maintain that independence, how we handle affiliate revenue, how we correct errors, and what standards our editorial contributors are expected to meet.
Editorial Independence
All editorial decisions — which brands to review, how they are ranked, what language is used to describe them — are made solely by the gheeisgood.com editorial team. No brand, retailer, or affiliate partner has editorial input. A brand cannot pay to be reviewed, pay to be reviewed favorably, or pay to remove a negative assessment.
If a brand contacts us with a factual correction — for example, to update a certification status or sourcing claim — we will verify that correction independently and update the page if it is accurate. Correction requests do not entitle a brand to editorial approval before publication.
How Affiliate Relationships Work
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase, gheeisgood.com earns a commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Affiliate commission rates do not influence rankings. The rate we earn on a product purchase does not factor into whether a brand appears on the site, where it ranks in a comparison, or how it is described. Our methodology page explains in detail what does influence rankings.
Pages that contain affiliate links are labeled with a disclosure notice at the top
of the page. The disclosure reads: "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying
purchases." All affiliate links use rel="sponsored nofollow" attributes.
No Paid Reviews or Sponsored Content
gheeisgood.com does not publish paid reviews, sponsored posts, or branded content disguised as editorial. If content is sponsored — meaning a third party paid for its creation or placement — it will be labeled clearly as "Sponsored" at the top of the page, separate from our standard editorial content. We currently have no sponsored content on this site.
We may accept product samples from brands for evaluation purposes. Accepting a sample does not guarantee a review, does not guarantee a favorable review, and is disclosed when it occurs. We do not accept samples in exchange for positive coverage.
Corrections Policy
We correct factual errors promptly. If you find an error — a wrong certification status, an incorrect price tier, a misattributed sourcing claim — contact us with the specifics. We will investigate and, if the error is confirmed, correct the page and note the correction at the bottom of the affected article with the correction date.
Corrections are not hidden or quietly edited. A correction note will appear on any page where a substantive factual error has been fixed, so readers who bookmarked the original content understand what changed.
Content Update Policy
Ghee brands change their sourcing, lose or gain certifications, and discontinue products. We aim to keep brand profiles current. Each profile displays a "Last reviewed" date. Reviews are updated when:
- A brand changes sourcing, manufacturing, or ownership
- A certification is earned or revoked
- A product is discontinued or reformulated
- New information changes our assessment of quality or transparency
- At minimum annually for all actively sold brands
Author Qualification Standards
Editorial contributors to gheeisgood.com are expected to have substantive knowledge of food sourcing, nutrition, or related domains. Author credentials and experience are disclosed on their author bio page. We do not publish anonymous reviews. Every piece of content on this site is attributable to a named editor or author.
Contributors are expected to disclose any relationship — financial or personal — with a brand they are reviewing. If a conflict of interest exists, the content is reviewed by a second editor before publication and the relationship is disclosed.
Health Content Standards
This site covers a food product with a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicine and growing interest in Western wellness communities. We take health content seriously. Our standards:
- Health claims are framed as "research suggests" — never as proven or guaranteed outcomes
- We do not make disease treatment claims (prohibited by FTC and FDA guidelines for food products)
- Health content is reviewed for accuracy against published nutrition science
- Readers are reminded to consult a qualified healthcare professional before making dietary changes
